Like the rest of us, artists are often drawn to mountains. Two of the great examples are Paul Cezanne’s love affair with Mont Sainte-Victoire in Provence, which featured in over sixty paintings, and Hokusai’s 46 depictions of Mt Fuji. This Friday 23rd Nov, Alec de Wilt, Dan O’Toole and Neil Tomkins will be showing the works they created in Queenstown at Maggie’s Art Space 178 Johnston St, Collingwood. The show is entitled “Between Mountains”. And with each artist-in-residence we can see an influence of Mt Owen and Mt Lyell on their art. It’s been a great year, thanks to your support.
