What is the Queenstown Artist Residency?

Ongoing call for applications for our Artist Residency Program. This unique opportunity allows artists to immerse themselves in a remote unique environment while continuing their creative work. Whether you’re a painter, writer, digital artist, sculptor, or working in any other medium, this residency is designed to offer you uninterrupted time to focus on your craft.

Residency Overview:

Location: Queenstown, Tasmania

Duration: runs for a month – starting at the first of the month and ending on the last day of the month.

Fee: $1,000 AUD (includes accommodation, studio space, and utilities). + $200 cleaning fee

Eligibility: Open to all artists, across all artistic disciplines.

Deadline for Applications:  open application time currently

Residency Includes:

Accommodation (1st bedroom with a queen bed and 2nd bedroom with a single bed (without window)).

Dedicated studio space.

Access to a supportive, community of fellow artists.

At the end of the residency, participants will be invited to share their work in an exhibition or open studio(optional).

How to Apply:

Application: please submit an application with the below stated items to our email – Qbankgallery@gmail.com

Portfolio/Work Samples: Submit images or links to your work.

Artist Statement: Provide a brief statement (up to 500 words) about your artistic practice, what you hope to achieve during the residency, and how the setting will benefit your work.

Project Proposal: A description of the project you intend to work on during the residency (up to 500 words).

CV/Resume: Include an updated CV or resume.

Selection Criteria:

Artistic quality and originality.

Clarity of project proposal and how the residency fits with your current practice.

Motivation to engage in a self-directed, remote residency setting.
